Pirelli will supply the tires used by Audi for the 2012 edition of the Audi Winter Driving Experience.
This year’s experiences will take place Feb. 12 through Feb. 19 at Esterel Suites, Spa & Lac in Montreal, Quebec, and Feb. 28 through Mar. 4 at Nakoda on the Lake, Spa Lodge and Conference center in Calgary, Alberta.
Participants will have the opportunity to feel first-hand the combined grip of Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system and Pirelli Sottozero Serie II tires, original equipment fitment for the 2012 Audi S4.
Audi-certified driving instructors will coach attendees on proper winter driving techniques on the frozen lake surface.
The Pirelli Sottozero Serie II uses dual tread compounds. A softer outboard compound enhances traction in cold winter conditions while a firmer inboard compound increase high-speed stability and durability.
Pirelli’s Temperature Dynamic Compound technology optimizes the compounds for wet and icy surfaces to provide improved traction in winter’s near freezing and lower temperatures.
