Jaguar Land Rover is making it easier to equip your classic Jag or Land Rover with modern audio, navigation and infotainment functionality with a new range of classically-styled, harmonious Classic Infotainment Systems.
The range includes five designs, including two branded units for Jaguar and two for Land Rover. Jaguar-branded units are available in black or chrome, and LR units come in black or brushed aluminum. They are compatible only with negative earth vehicles (where the negative terminal is connected to the chassis and the positive is live, as opposed to some classic cars that were the opposite).
They provide premium sound quality in a single DIN unit, with an integrated 180-watt 4-channel amp. The touchscreen classic infotainment systems feature a 3.5-inch screen AM/FM bands, satellite navigation, smartphone integration, Bluetooth connectivity (for up to four devices), an internal microphone, and digital audio (DAB, which is good for European, Asian and Pacific markets).
In accordance with modern standards, the navigation system is available in 32 languages, can display 2D or 3D maps or arrow/turn instructions, and includes traffic alerts.
The units are available for purchase from www.jaguarclassicparts.com, priced from £1,200 (about $2,037 Canadian), and can be installed at select Jaguar Land Rover dealerships.
