Lamborghini Aventador joins the carbon culture

Vitesse AuDessus makes bespoke carbon fibre bits for several exotics

A day after McLaren introduced a factory carbon fibre body-panel package for its LT roadster, Lamborghini followed suit with aftermarket packages for its Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Coupé and Roadster.

Vitesse AuDessus, maker of bespoke carbon fibre components (exterior, interior, wheels, monocoques, etc.) for some of the worlds most exciting marques (Aston Martin, Ferrari and others, including McLaren), has announced comprehensive packages that include every body panel, and can be broken up so owners can get as much or as little as they want.

“There is no doubt that the Superveloce is an absolutely stunning supercar. One of the car's few aesthetic failings lies in the use of highly visible plastic bodywork,” says Vitesse AuDessus CEO Stefany Sanchez. “Several SV owners approached us seeking a carbon fiber option for these parts, namely the lower front bumper, side skirts, rear diffuser and mirrors. Our offering completes the visual story.”

Parts can be purchased individually (for example, wheels go for $25,000 US per set, or $20,000 when added to a package) or grouped into several packages. The Essentials Package groups the lower front bumper, side skirts, mirrors and rear diffuser for $15,525. Individually, the parts would tally up to $17,250. The Extended Package adds the hood for a $6,750 premium (individually priced at $7,500).

The centre-lock carbon-fibre wheels themselves come in a variety of styles, including ones to match the pattern of the OEM wheels, a Veneno-inspired 5-spoke unit, and several in-house designs.

“Our wheels are the lightest and strongest wheels available on the market today. By shedding more than 25kg of unsprung weight, our wheels markedly improve acceleration, handling and fuel economy” says Sanchez. “The Superveloce is already an exciting, exclusive, and sexy automobile. Our wheels make it that much more."

Finished by hand, the parts and components come in the typical glossy carbon weave (in a variety of tints) or fully painted in glossy or matte finish. All parts come with a 5-year warranty against yellowing (and defects).

Delivery takes 3-4 weeks (4-6, for the wheels), depending on specs and where they’re shipped to, and the prices include complimentary installation. And oh yeah, Vitesse AuDessus is only making 300 of each, so when they’re done, they’re done.
