As the first luxury vehicle produced in the state of Tennessee, an Infiniti JX luxury crossover rolled off the production line during a special ceremony held at Nissan’s Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant.
The all-new, 7-passenger 2013 Infiniti JX, the latest addition to the Infiniti line-up, is scheduled to go on sale this spring.
"We are extremely proud and honoured to be building this world-class vehicle right here in Middle Tennessee," said Brennan. "We expect the inspired design and quality craftsmanship built into every new Infiniti model that rolls off the Smyrna production lines will deliver inspired performance that is second to none."
Along with the assembly of the new Infiniti JX, the 265-horsepower 3.5-litre DOHC V-6 engines are assembled in nearby Decherd, Tennessee.
The all-wheel drive 2013 JX achieves fuel economy ratings of 11.5 city, 8.5 highway and 10.2 combined (L/100km).
Attending the celebration alongside Smyrna technicians who will build the new JX were Nissan Americas Vice Chairman, Bill Krueger, as well as executives from the two plants and politicians from the region.
