Subaru's all-new 2014 Forester crossover SUV will make its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of this month.
The fourth-generation Forester is said to offer a roomier interior while occupying virtually the same footprint as its predecessor.
The naturally aspirated 2.5-litre boxer engine, introduced in the current Forester and rated at 170 horsepower, will serve as the base engine but a new 2.0-litre turbocharged direct-injection variant, rated at 250 horsepower, will also be offered.
Buyers will have a choice of a new six-speed manual transmission or Subaru's 'Lineartronic' continuously variable transmission (CVT). The brand's vaunted Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system will be standard in all models
The company says the all-new five-passenger 2014 Forester combines its trademark traits of agile handling and compliant ride quality with enhanced off-pavement capability.
Inside, there's more rear-seat legroom and a bigger cargo area. Available infotainment features will include smartphone integration, navigation, rear view camera, and harman/kardon premium audio amplifier and speakers.
We'll have a First Drive report on the new Forester in the near future.
