2015 Ford F-150 with Snow Plow

Perhaps inspired by the toughest winter in years across much of North America, Ford has announced that its all-new 2015 Ford F-150 will be the only light-duty pickup with a manufacturer’s snow plow prep option available across all cab configurations – Regular, SuperCab and SuperCrew.

When the snow plow mode is activated, by the push of a button, the vehicle temporarily turns off nonessential features to provide dedicated power for the plow.

The snow plow prep option package will be offered on trucks with XL, XLT or Lariat trim levels, equipped with a 5.0-litre V-8 engine and four-wheel drive.

Owners of new F-150s with the snow plow prep option will need to take their truck to a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier to purchase and install the plow hardware. The maximum permissible weight of the plow will be more than 204 kg (450lb), the company says.

The new 2015 F-150 will go on sale at the end of 2014 and pricing for the snow plow prep option, excluding the plow, will be announced later in the year.
