Acura has announced that pricing for its all-new 2015 TLX performance luxury sedan will start at $34,990 (MSRP) in Canada.
The TLX, which replaces both the TL and TSX, will arrive in dealerships across the country in August.
"The TLX heralds a new era for the Acura brand and we are excited to begin the process of getting our current and new customers behind the wheel," said Dave Gardner, vice-president, sales and marketing, Acura Canada.
To that end, Acura is offering a complimentary TLX maintenance package for Canadian customers as part of a pre-sale campaign leading up to the launch.
The TLX line features three models that are said to include a long list of standard luxury comfort, convenience and safety features. All models can be upgraded with a Technology Package and V-6 powered models will be available with a line-topping Elite Package.
The base level Acura TLX, with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine rated at 206 horsepower and an all-new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (8DCT) will have an MSRP of $34,990 – lower than for the outgoing TSX it replaces.
The TLX Technology Package will have an MSRP of $38,690. It features the latest iteration of Acura’s Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) system.
The Acura TLX with a 3.5-litre V-6 engine, delivering 290-horsepower, and a new nine-speed automatic transmission will be available with both P-AWS and Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD).
Pricing for the two-wheel-drive model with P-AWS and the Technology Package will start at $41,690 – $1,800 less than for the outgoing 2014 TL Technology package model. The Elite Package with two-wheel-drive will be priced at $45,290.
The all-wheel drive TLX SH-AWD features a new hydraulically controlled version of Acura's torque vectoring SH-AWD and starts at $39,990 – fully $4,000 below the outgoing 2014 TL with SH-AWD. The Technology Package will be available for $43,890 and the Elite Package will be $47,490.
The 2.4-litre model will arrive in Canada beginning in August. The 3.5-litre P-AWS model and the 3.5-litre SH-AWD model will follow at a later date.
