2015-16 Ford F150 with Superlift Suspension

Ford is well regarded for the off-roadability of the F-Series pickups, but aftermarket suspension maker Superlift is hoping to give the Ford F-150 a bit bigger edge in off-road performance and looks.

The Louisiana company, regarded as one of the pioneers in aftermarket suspension systems, has introduced new 4.5- and 6-inch bolt-on kits for the 2015 and 2016 model-year F-150. The new kits provide the trucks with a more commanding presence on the road while allowing the use of 18-inch, or larger, wheels and 36-inch, or larger, tires.

In a release announcing the availability, Superlift praised the rugged reliability of the full-sized pickups, their cutting edge engines and wide range options, but called the OEM suspension and ride height the “biggest limiting factor when it comes to its off-road capabilities, as it severely restricts the amount of tire you can fit under the truck.”

That’s the reason Superlift created the new lift kits, which add 4.5 inches (114 mm) or 6.0 inches (152 mm) of ride height, allowing the buyer to run a larger wheel/tire combination without sacrificing ride quality or requiring expensive modifications to align constant velocity (CV) joints, tie-rod ends and drive shafts.

Modelled from factory specs using 3D CAD design to ensure precise fit and easy installation, the kits come with a choice of rear shocks (SUPERLIFT Superide or SUPERLIFT Superide SS by Bilstein), as well as an option bearing carrier drop to ensure complete compatibility for models fitted with a 2-piece rear driveshaft and carrier bearing.

All kits are made in the US and are backed by a lifetime warranty, and can reportedly be installed in seven to nine hours.
