Alfa Romeo is paying homage to its many racing victories and the many laps its vehicles have turned at the legendary Nürburgring with NRING editions of its halo Quadrifoglio models.
Limited to just 110 examples in total, the NRING Stelvio Quadrifoglio and Giulia Quadrifoglio editions are enhanced with exclusive equipment and combinations to make them as special as the vehicles’ performance on the famed 73-turn 20.8-km Nordschleife (north loop) of the fabled track.
Giulia has turned a 7:32-lap, making it the fastest 5-passenger vehicle in the world, while Stelvio’s fastest lap was 7:51.7, making the fastest production SUV in North America.
“Alfa Romeo has always been something truly special in the automotive world, whether on the race circuit or the open road,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo. “Today, we honor not only what Alfa Romeo represents to the automotive community, but what it stands for as a storied brand with historic racing victories and record-setting laps at the Nürburgring.”
The NRING packages include Circuito Grey matte exterior, carbon fibre grille and mirror caps, and dark miron badges. Giulia gets a carbon-fibre roof (Stelvio gets a dual-pane sunroof); Stelvio gets carbon-fibre side sills. Both get dark aluminum wheels (19-inch on Giulia; 20-inch on Stelvio) that show off red brake calipers with Alfa Romeo script (upgradeable to ultra-high-performance Brembo carbon ceramic brakes.
Inside, the 2-tone red/black leather interior is accented in red stitching and more carbon fibre (steering wheel, shifter bezel and illuminated door sills on Giulia), including optional Sparco carbon fibre frame racing seats. And, of course, there is the customary serialized number plate.
Also included is a convenience package, alarm system and driver assistance package (adaptive cruise with full stop capability, lane departure warning, automatic high beam control and an infrared windshield).
There has been no word how many of the Quadrifoglio NRING models are allotted to Canada, or at what price, though the vehicles’ MSRPs in the US are $89,890 (Giulia) and $95,890 (Stelvio).
