All six Bugatti Legends appear at Pebble Beach

One-off presentation of all six models of “Les Légendes de BugattI” Edition

In 1985, for the first time ever, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance hosted the first-ever gathering of the only six Bugatti Royales ever made. The Type 41 Royale was Bugatti's biggest, most luxurious, most powerful and most exclusive model.

Designed for potentates and heads of state at the height of the Depression, it epitomized the unobtainable and continued to do so long after that era. For decades to come, the Royales reigned as the world's most valuable collector cars and still rank among that number.

At this year's Concours, Bugatti echoed that event, however faintly, with a presentation of all six of its current "Les Légendes de Bugatti" models.

The final car in the Legends series, the "Ettore Bugatti" model, made its world premiere at "The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering" on Friday, in advance of the Concours.

Six Legends models were released – all detailed variations on the Bugatti Veyron supercar – and just three of each were built. Bugatti says all 18 vehicles have been sold.

"The Legends edition is a great success, "said Wolfgang Dürheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., at the presentation of the Legends models.

The series was inaugurated a year ago with the parallel introduction of the Legends model "Jean-Pierre Wimille." The "Jean Bugatti" followed at the Frankfurt motor show and the "Meo Costantini" at the Dubai show.

This year, the "Rembrandt Bugatti" appeared in Geneva and "Black Bess" at Auto China in Beijing.ing. The final Legend, "Ettore Bugatti" completes the series.
