Put yourself in the game with Volkswagen's international student design challenge, which runs from May 5 to Aug. 15, 2014.
The first Worldwide Design Contest asks young designers to submit concepts for a video game car. A jury of VW design experts will pick three winners of a six-month internship in Volkswagen's Wolfsburg design department.
The challenge - "Create a cool video game car for Volkswagen!" - is open to students of interior and exterior design, interface design, graphic design and/or colour and trim. Designs should include typical Volkswagen character that is "somewhat recognizable." Designs may be submitted as individual work or as a team. Winners will be announced Sept. 30, 2014.
"We are always interested in the perspective and attitude of young designers to mobility topics and this is why we decided to take a new approach to finding fresh design talents with the Design Contest," said VW head of design Klaus Bischoff. In addition to finding fresh young talent, the maker says such contests help establish long-term cooperation with international universities and design academies.
Students from Russia, India and China were invited in 2011 to design "the first electrical Volkswagen for my country."
