BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage

BMW will reveal its new 3.0 CSL Hommage to the global public for the first time at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the shores of Italy's Lake Como on May 22.

As its name implies, the concept is the BMW Design team’s tribute to the BMW 3.0 CSL, an iconic BMW Coupe from the 1970s.

It reflects the engineering achievement exemplified by the original in its lightweight design and performance, employing cutting-edge technologies and materials to uodate the concept.

Like the original, the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage employs bold air deflectors, prominent wheel arches and distinctive roof and rear spoilers. Extensive use of carbon fibre on the lower body highlights the car’sic lightweight design concept.

Also like the original, the Hommage's interior is pared down to bare essentials, albeit elegantly rendered. The cabin elements all reflect a high-quality structural or driving-related function.

As BMW puts it, the Hommage displays technical supremacy and formal sophistication, embodying a consummate combination of lightweight design, sportiness and elegance.

We'll have more details when the full car is revealed.
