Canadian Car of the Year testing is underway

More than 170 new vehicles are being tested at the annual AJAC TestFest

The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada's (AJAC's) 26th annual TestFest is now underway to determine the best new vehicles in 12 separate categories and ultimately the2014 Canadian Car of the Year and Utility Vehicle of the Year.

More than 170 new cars, trucks and CUV/SUVs are now on site on Niagara Parks Commission property in Niagara Falls, Ontario which serves as the focal point of testing activities, which will take place across the Niagara region over the next five days.

Those vehicles represent 58 all-new or significantly revised models for 2014.

Preliminary performance testing began today and will be followed with comprehensive road and, where appropriate, off-road testing by approximately 80 AJAC members who earn their livings testing cars, over the balance of the week.

Winners of the 12 vehicle category awards will be announced at a press conference in Toronto on December 3 and the overall Car and Utility Vehicle of the Year will be revealed at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto on February 14, 2014.
