Nissan Canada has set prices for its all-new, American-built 2015 Murano that start at $29,998, a reduction of $4,500 from the 2014 Murano S base model.
The third-generation Murano will be available in four trim levels – S, SV, SL and Platinum. New for Canada, S models will be offered only with front-wheel-drive while the SV trim level offers a choice of front- or all-wheel-drive and up-level SL and Platinum models come only with all-wheel-drive.
Nissan says prices are lower than for comparable 2014 models at virtually all trim levels, in spite of the higher equipment levels. Prices top out at $43,498 for the top-of- the-line Murano Platinum AWD.
Standard features on all models include: Intelligent Key with push-button start, Bluetooth, NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps, and an 8-inch colour display with multi-touch control.
All models use the same powertrain – a 3.5-litre DOHC V-6 engine connected to an updated Xtronic continually-variable transmission.
The new models are about 66 kg lighter than their predecessors and incorporate low rolling resistance tires, grille shutters, and underbody covers that enhance underbody airflow and contribute to the Murano's relatively low 0.31 Cd (coefficient of drag).
They will arrive at dealers across Canada in mid-December, 2014.
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) for all models are:
> Murano S FWD $29,998 CAD
> Murano SV FWD $32,998 CAD
> Murano SV AWD $34,998 CAD
> Murano SL AWD $38,398 CAD
