Just about any business wants to be in the black, and apparently auto companies want their special editions to be in the Black, too. But not Fiat Chrysler (FCA); at least not when it applies to the Chrysler Pacifica minivan. It’s going into the Red.

“There’s nothing better than a minivan at moving both people and stuff, and Chrysler Pacifica allows owners to haul with a bit more style,” said Tim Kuniskis, FCA’s Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA. “One out of every three Pacifica models sold features the blacked-out S Appearance. The Pacifica’s new Red S Edition takes that factory customization even further, giving families a chance to really make a statement in the school drop-off line.”

For 2020, FCA is adding a splash of Red (for both the gasoline and hybrid versions). The Red S Edition adds a torrid interior to the family hauler, in the form of class-exclusive Rodèo Red Nappa leather upholstery, stitched together in Light Diesel Grey.

The front 2-tone seats (red and black) feature the grey stitching, piping and grey outline on the embroidered S. The package also included a Harman Kardon 20-speaker audio system, Silver Metal Brush instrument panel inserts and the KeySense programmable key fob.

It also includes 20-inch wheels with Black Noise finish (18-inch on the hybrid), rear red S-badge, Black Noise Chrysler badges trimmed in red, and the Advanced SafetyTec Package (adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with automatic braking, lane-keeping assist, automatic parking system, and automatic wipers and highbeams).

The minivan can be ordered in Ceramic Grey Clear Coat (new for 2020), Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat, Granite Crystal Metallic Clear Coat, Billet Metallic Clear Coat, Bright White Clear Coat and Maximum Steel Clear Coat exteriors. Prices have yet to be set in Canada ($3,995 in the US) with ordering starting soon. The hybrid version will be available later on in the model year.
