Dodge shares a special bond with military buyers, so it’s celebrating the men and women who serve the country with a new Stars & Stripes edition on Challenger and Charger.
A study by mTAB (a data services and analysis company that helps clients get deeper insights from their data) on 2016-18 new vehicle customers showed that Dodge has the highest percentage of active military buyers, with Challenger and Charger holding the highest percentage in their respective segments.
“Dodge is known for delivering custom looks straight from the factory. We also have a strong following of buyers who are in the military, as well as many buyers who are patriotic,” said Steve Beahm, FCA’s Head of Passenger Car Brands - Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA - and Head of Parts & Service (Mopar). “The Stars & Stripes Edition is an opportunity to deliver a custom look with unique elements that speak to those performance enthusiasts who want to extend their passion for their country to the Charger and Challenger.”
The Stars & Stripes edition comes in one of nine colours — Destroyer Grey, F8 Green, Granite Crystal, IndiGo Blue, Maximum Steel, Octane Red, Pitch Black, Triple Nickel and White Knuckle — but is best identified by a unique Satin Black and Silver accent stripe and Satin Black American Flag fender decals. Other exterior features include black badging and 20x9-inch black mid-gloss wheels.
The package is available on Challenger R/T Scat Pack and Charger Scat Pack, Challenger and Charger R/T, and Challenger and Charger GT rear-wheel drive models
Bronze 4-piston Brembo brake calipers show through the wheels on Challenger R/T and Charger Scat Pack models, as well as with the Performance Handling Group that’s available for GT and R/T models.
The prominence of black is carried over inside, with Gloss Black interior accents, unique black-on-black cloth seats embroidered with a bronze star, Dark Brushed II interior bezels, unique Antique Bronze instrument panel badge and bronze accent stitching throughout.
The Stars & Stripes edition makes its public debut at this week’s New York International Auto Show and will be available in summer 2019.
