Dodge Viper aficionados can create a unique car through a new online customizing tool that promises a unique design experience.
Available at www.driveSRT.com/Viper, the Viper GTC Customizer features a possible 25 million build combinations, from choices of 8,000 exterior colours, 24,000 custom stripes, 11 wheel options, 16 interior trims, seven aero packages, three brake packages and four suspension options, as well as a host of standalone options. Finished designs can be shared through the various social media outlets or posted to a GTC Inspiration Gallery on the site.
The program is called 1 of 1 Viper, and includes a 1:18 scale Viper and personalized instrument panel badge for those who take the design through to its hand-built conclusion.
Designers can also place their creations in personal lifestyle environments to allow them to better visualize how the new car may look in their realities.
And even with 25 million possible end results, there’s always the chance that two may be exactly the same, so to make sure that doesn’t happen, the program will not allow two identical configurations in the same model year.
Starting from $92,995, the Viper takes its place in the super performance car segment thanks to a 645-hp 8.4-litre V10 that can take the car to 100 km/h is less than 3.5 seconds, through the quarter mile in about 11.5 seconds, and to a top speed of 332 km/h.
The “1 of 1” customization is expected to add about $10,000 to the base Viper price.
Now in its fifth generation (launched in 2012), the Viper has been built by hand at the Conner Avenue Assembly plant since 1995.
