The Dubai Police have added McLaren MP4-12Cs to their fleet, using the opportunity and some 2020 plates to hype their selection as host for the World Expo 2020. The Dubai Police said it was to "maintain the UAE and Dubai's reputation globally," according to the Khaleej Times.

The specially equipped vehicles officially joined the fleet during the Arabian Travel Market, where they were ogled by passers-by alongside Aston Martins, Bentleys and Mercedeses, and two previously launched Ferraris. The fleet already sports cars from Laborghini, Nissan, Bugatti, Volkswagen and BMW. Officers allowed to drive the vehicles in the luxury fleet are specially trained by professional drivers.

“All security patrol cars belong to the Dubai Government and these luxury cars were allocated to the Dubai Police to patrol tourist and heritage areas," said Dubai’s police chief, Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina.

The newly introduced cars would be stationed near the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai mall, Jumeirah Beach Residence, the Burj Al Arab and in Jumeirah as well as other places frequented by tourists, said the Khaleej Times.
