BMW 8 Series customers looking for a bit of exclusivity may have found it in the M850i xDrive Coupe First Edition, limited to just 400 units (all to be built in spring 2019).
A product of BMW Individual, BMW’s bespoke arm, the First Edition features a special exterior metallic paint (Frozen Barcelona Blue), high-gloss trim around windows and the kidney grille, black trim on tailpipe and air breather, Jet Black 20-inch M light alloy wheels, and M Carbon roof and exterior accents.
Opening the doors unveils an exclusive interior enhanced by BMW Individual features, including Merino 2-tone leather (Ivory White/Night Blue), leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bowers&Wilkins surround sound system, Crafted Clarity glass applications on the start button, volume controller, gear shift lever and iDrive controller, and Night Blue Alcantara roof liner. Naturally, there’s a limited edition plaque, showing production sequencing, on the centre console.
Power is supplied by the 530-hp twin-turbo 4.4-litre V-8 and sent to all four wheels through the 8-speed Steptronic automatic, so it performs as good as it looks
Visibility, Technology and Premium packages available to the regular 8 Series coupes are all included as standard on the M850i xDrive Coupe First Edition. Pricing is yet to be finalized, pending the first deliveries in June 2019.
