In celebration of its centenary, Bentley has announced the Flying Spur First Edition, which is due to make its public appearance and be auctioned off at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Gala evening at the inaugural Midsummer Party, Picozzi’s Villa Dorane, July 24th.
The top-bidder of the limited-production (12 months) car will work with a member of Bentley’s Design Team to create a bespoke, completely unique car through the company’s exclusive Co-Creation Luxury Service, a service offered to select Bentley clients.
Aside from the Union Jack exterior and instrument panel badges (with a bold “1” in the centre), the selection available to the buyer are virtually limitless, from exterior paint to interior leather and trim combination and even seat stitching. So not only will the lucky auction winner get an ultra-high-luxury, limited edition Flying Spur, he/she will also have the opportunity to create the car of his/her dreams.
The iconic Flying B mascot has been redesigned and electronically enhanced (including popping up from the front body panel when the car is unlocked) and badging also includes door sill plates and seat embroidery.
And, the Flying Spur First Edition also includes a 0-100 km/h acceleration rating of about four seconds, 626-hp 6.0-litre W-12 engine, 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, all wheel drive, all-wheel steering, 3-mode air suspension and 22-inch Mulliner Driving Specification alloy wheels.
Available to the buyer are items such as the Bentley Rotating Display, which allows the driver to choose between classic analogue and technologically advanced digital instrument panel displays, advanced driving aids (night vision, lane assist, head-up display and adaptive cruise, among others), interior mood lighting (seven colours and two intensities), panoramic sunroof and Alcantara blinds.
The Bentley Flying Spur First Edition goes into production at the end of 2019.
