Ford is recalling some 8,000 Ranger pickups to deal with badly assembled front passenger seatbelt.

On certain 2019 Ford Ranger SuperCab (extended cab) models, the right front seatbelt may have been improperly assembled, which could lead to its not working as intended in the event of a crash (although Ford is not aware of any incidents relating to the issue).

The issue affects 7,580 pickups in the US and federalized territories and another 400 in Canada.

Service technicians at Ford dealerships will inspect the front right seatbelt assembly and replace it as necessary.
