NEW YORK, NY - The fourth-generation Lexus RX, introduced here at the New York International Auto Show, promises to pick up where the old one left off - as the best selling Lexus model and the best-selling luxury SUV in Canada.

The RX pretty much invented the segment where it now faces 17 competitors.

With more power, space and features wrapped in a new design the 2016 RX 350 and its hybrid sibling RX 450h build upon that success. The 2016 RX, to be built in Cambridge, ON is new from bumper-to-bumper and road to roof, from its new fascia to its wrap-around tail lights and 20-inch aluminum wheels.

The new interior features more second row leg and knee room, a 30-cm monitor and available HUD (Head Up Display).

Its 3.5-litre V-6 engine has "at least " 300-horsepower and is paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission. The RX450h gets the same basic engine operating on the fuel-saving Atkinson cycle. Combined with the electric motor its output will exceed 300-horsepower.
