Next February's Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto will be the 40th annual presentation of the grand event. But its organizers aren't waiting until then to begin celebrating.
The partying begins with a black-tie 40th Anniversary Charity Gala on November 16, 2012. And what a party it will be!
Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Dan Aykroyd and guests will include such luminaries as comedian, Mike Bullard and Canadian racing greats, Scott Goodyear, Alex Tagliani and Paul Tracy.
Proceeds from the Gala Charity Celebrity Dinner/Dance will go to the Toronto Automobile Dealers Foundation (TADF), in support of Ronald McDonald House, the Trillium Gift of Life Network and the Canadian Safe Schools Network.
The one-of-a-kind car will feature signatures and photo likenesses of the above-mentioned drivers, along with Ron Fellows and Richard Spenard, air-brushed by artist, Ron Gibbs. Renowned Canadian automotive artist, Ken Dallison is also creating a painting of these Legends of Canadian Motorsport.
Music will be provided by the 905 Band, featuring many of the who’s who of the Toronto Music Scene. (But don't be surprised if Elwood Blues also gets into the act!)
Everything takes place at Constitution Hall in the Metro-Toronto Convention Centre, site of the annual auto show.
Tickets are available for $300 per person on-line at www.autoshow.ca/cias40. Premium V.I.P. Tickets, at $350 per, will include a private “Meet and Greet” Reception with Dan Aykroyd, Scott Goodyear and Mike Bullard as well as other celebrity guests, where you can enjoy the tastings of Dan Aykroyd’s wines and Crystal Skull Vodka.
The gala event promises to be the hottest ticket on the Canadian automotive scene. Numbers are limited so get yours early.
