GMC is taking luxury away from the suburbs and the work site, developing an all-new Off-Road Performance Package for the 2019 Sierra full-size pickup.
The new package will be available on the Sierra AT4, the premium trim level GMC bills as the most advanced, distinctive, connected and capable pickup the company has ever offered. The Off-Road Performance Package improves on the new pickup’s capabilities with more power and purpose.
“The 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 debuted all-new, purposeful technologies for the premium truck segment and the new Off-Road Performance Package takes it a step farther,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global GMC. “It offers optimized performance, both on- and off-road.”
The package includes a 6.2-litre V-8 reined by a 10-speed automatic, with performance air intake and Cat-Back performance exhaust system. As a result of the modifications, horsepower has been improved to 435 (up from the 6.2’s standard 420) and torque to 469 lb-ft (up from 460).
The Off-Road Performance Package also adds 18-inch aluminum wheels shod with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, to better take advantage of the AT4’s 2-inch suspension lift over regular Sierras, standard 4ED with 2-speed transfer case and locking rear differential. Standard off-road features include specially-tuned Rancho monotube shocks, hill-descent control, traction select system.
The AT4 is distinguished from other Sierras by red vertical recovery hooks, blacked out grille with black chrome surround, and black chrome on fog lamp bezels, fender surrounds and side mirrors.
