When the all-new 2013 Honda Accord sedan arrives in Canadian dealerships on September 24, it will carry the lowest starting MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) it has had in eight years.
Base price for the Accord LX four-door, with four-cylinder engine and six-speed manual transmission will be $23,990.
At the other end of the scale, the Accord Touring V-6 sedan, with Honda’s new six-speed automatic transmission, checks in with a starting price of $35,290. Its premium features include HondaLink connected-car system, LaneWatch Blind Spot Display, heated rear seats and LED headlights and taillights.
Introduction of the stylish new Accord Coupe will lag that of the sedan by a little more than a month, arriving in dealerships on November 1, 2012.
Completely redesigned for 2013, the ninth-generation Accord is said to offer increased value resulting from lower prices and added content across the entire model lineup.
Due to added standard features and technologies, coupled with price reductions, the new Accord adds up to $3,500 in additional value for Canadian customers compared to the outgoing model," says Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada.
New Honda powertrain and safety technologies will ensure that the Accord continues to lead in fuel economy, safety and fun-to-drive performance, he says.
The 2013 Accord represents the first North American application of Honda’s next-generation 2.4-litre ‘Earth Dreams’ direct-injected four-cylinder engine.
Both sedan and Coupe will also offer a more powerful and efficient V-6 engine, and in the summer of 2013, an all-new two-motor 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) sedan will debut as an ATDP (Advanced Technology Development Product).
Four transmissions are available in various combinations, including the first-ever application of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) on Honda 2.4-litre four-cylinder models, a six-speed automatic on V-6 models, and unique 6-speed manual transmissions on 2.4-litre 4-cylinder models and the 3.5-litre V-6 Coupe.
Fuel consumption is the lowest ever for an Accord, with four-cylinder models earning estimated ratings as low as 5.5 L/100 km, highway, and V-6 ratings as low 5.7 L/100 km, highway. All Accord models feature standard Econ button with Eco Assist.
