It’s only been a year since the redesign of the Honda Pilot, but the company is celebrating the mid-sized SUV’s being in the black … with a Black Edition cosmetic package for 2020.
Similar to the Ridgeline Black Edition, the 7-passenger Pilot package features an exclusive Crystal Black Pearl exterior, with Black Edition badges on the blacked-out grille and on the hatchgate. It also comes with a gloss-black grille bar, black 20-inch alloy wheels and blackout treatment on the headlight and fog light surrounds, side trim, door handles and window trim.
Interior styling enhancements include red accent lighting on the instrument panel, doors and centre console, red stitching on the front and centre row seating, door panels and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and red accented perforated leather on the seats, as well as embossed Black Edition emblems on the front seats and floor mats.
The lengthy equipment list includes, among other items, panorama sunroof, hands-free hatchgate, heated/ventilated front seats, heated middle row captain’s chairs, tri-zone climate control, multi-angle rearview camera, 600-watt premium audio system with 11 speakers, 10.2-inch display rear entertainment system and full connectivity including the ability to create a mobile Wi-Fi hot spot.
Power is supplied by the 3.5-litre 24-valve i-VTEC V-6 with variable cylinder management and stop/start. Power is delivered to all four wheels by a 9-speed paddle-shift automatic. An extensive list of driving aids is also part of the package, as it is on all Pilots.
