Honda this week released details of its all-new 2013 Accord Sedan and Coupe, with the sedan due at dealers Sept. 24 and the coupe on Nov. 1, 2012.

The duo come completely redesigned with a promised host of powertrain, engineering, elecgtronic and safety firsts.

The brand's Earth Dreams powertrains will include the first North American application of a next-generation 2.4-litre direct-injected four-cylinder engine. Both will also offer a more powerful and efficient V6, and next summer, an all-new two-motor Plug-in Hybrid will debut. Four transmissions include a first-ever application of a CVT on a 2.4-litre four-cylinder model, a six-speed automatic for the V6s, and a unique six-speed manual for the 2.4-litre four and 3.5-litre V6 coupe. Fuel efficiency is the best-ever for Accord, with four-cylinder models logging as good as 5.5 L/100 km highway ratings, and V6s as good as 5.7 in highway driving.

The  models also get the first application of an all-new cloud-based HondaLink infotainment suite. The LaneWatch blind-spot display also makes its debut; it's a camera system mounted on the passengermirror for an enhanced view of the road on that side. A rearview camera and an expanded view driver's mirror are standard, as are Bluetooth and iPod integration.

All models feature standard Econ button with Eco-Assist.
