Hyundai Canada has revealed that a new, extended-wheelbase version of its award-winning 2013 Santa Fe, to be called Santa Fe XL, will arrive in Canadian dealerships in March with a starting price of $29,999.
Available with three-row seating in six- or seven-passenger configurations, the XL will feature a 290-horsepower, 3.3-litre V-6 engine with Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) – the only V-6 powered CUV/SUV in the Hyundai lineup.
It mates to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and will provide a fuel-consumption rating as low as 7.8 L/100 km, highway, in front-wheel-drive form.
The XL is 215 mm longer than the existing five-passenger Santa Fe that, in 2.0T form, was recently voted AJAC's Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year.
Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth, heated front seats, sliding second row seats with cargo area release, trailer pre-wiring, and much more, the company says.
A $34,999 Premium model adds such features as all-wheel drive, automatic climate control, a power driver’s seat, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, rear door blinds, rear park assist, and a power lift gate.
The up-level $39,199 Luxury trim level adds a panoramic sunroof, leather seating, power passenger seat, auto-dimming rear-view mirror with HomeLink and compass, rear-view camera, and more.
At the top of the line, the $42,899 Limited model features a six-passenger layout, trading the second-row three-person bench seat for two captain’s chairs.
Along with black or saddle leather trim, it includes such premium features as HID headlights, LED taillights, an Integrated Memory System (IMS) for the driver’s seat and mirror settings, deluxe metal door scuff plates, a supervision gauge cluster with high-resolution TFT LED display, proximity keyless entry with push-button ignition, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 10-speaker Infinity premium audio system, and an 8.0-inch touch-screen navigation system.
