Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge

Infiniti's "Formula 1 inspired" Q50 Eau Rouge concept car, introduced at the Detroit auto show in January, was said to represent Infiniti's design vision of a high performance Q50 that blends road car technology and a thoroughbred motorsport vision.

Maybe so, for the company has turned the concept into a running prototype that has been tested by four-time F1 World Champion, Sebastial Vettel.

Vettel, who drives for the Infiniti-sponsored Infiniti Red Bull team, tested the car at the Millbrook Proving Ground in England. Footage of the testing will be shown at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show next week.

The company says Vettel's feedback will be engineered into the next stages of the prototype's extensive development program – testing components, packaging and viability.

It adds that a full schedule of prototype testing and evaluation continues, suggesting that it is on track for a production application.
