Jeep is showcasing its Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) at the Chicago Auto Show with a customized version of its limited-edition 2020 Jeep Wrangler JPP 20.
“The new limited-edition Jeep Wrangler JPP 20 is a ‘check-all-the boxes’ off-road vehicle for enthusiasts,” said Mark Bosanac, Head of Mopar Service, Parts and Customer Care for FCA – North America. “We loaded the Jeep brand’s iconic rock crawler with factory-backed and quality-tested, authentic Jeep Performance Parts specifically designed and engineered to tackle the toughest conditions.”
Among its equipment list of JPP add-ons are a 2-inch lift kit, narrowed black powder-coated front steel bumper and skid plate, water proof Rubicon Warn Winch with a 30-metre Warn Spydura synthetic rope, LED light packages, JPP steel-tube doors, Durabull-coated heavy-gauge steel rock rails, mesh sun bonnet and a trailer tow and heavy duty electrical group (four auxiliary switches, high-capacity 240-amp alternator and Class II hitch receiver with 4- and 7-pin adapters.
The 2020 Jeep Wrangler JPP 20 comes in Ocean Blue or White, with American flag hood and JPP quarter panel graphics, blacked out fender vents and fuel door and laser etched JPP badges on the driver side fender and swing gate. The swing-gate hinges have been reinforced to allow the mounting of a larger spare tire (and includes the relocation of the high-mounted stop lamp from above the spare to its centre).
The vehicle also comes with an exclusive owner’s kit that includes a personalized booklet and other memorabilia, and a credit toward dealer-installed equipment such as 5-inch and 7-inch off-road LED light kits and a choice of five available off-road wheel sets.
Inside, there are Katzkin Tuscany leather seats, embroidered with the JPP logo in the front seatbacks, Mopar all-weather floor mats that include front drain plugs to allow draining the footwells without needing to remove the floor mats, and a Mopar cargo tray kit in the trunk area.
A technology group is standard, including a 7-inch instrument cluster and 7-inch touchscreen for the Uconnect system that is ready for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Rear parking assist and blind-spot monitoring are also standard.
There is a choice of engines — 270-hp 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo with stop/start or eTorque mild-hybrid assist; 260-hp 3.0-litre V-6 with stop/start; 285-hp 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 with stop/start or eTorque assist — all linked to TorqueFlite 8-speed automatics.
The Wrangler JPP 20 is limited to the 2020 model year, with pricing announced closer to the launch date (dealers start accepting order in the spring) with deliveries coming in the summer.
