Actor Keanu Reeves has designed a motorcycle, in collaboration with California custom bike builder Gard Hollinger, and the two plan to put it into limited production.
You'll be able to buy a KRGT-1 for yourself... if you are willing to pay $78,000 (US) for it.
Reeves and Hollinger are partners in the Arch Motorcycle Company, based in Hawthorne, California. The KRGT-1 concept started as a one-off custom bike for Reeves, who is an avid biker, and it morphed into a shared business with plans for production.
As the project progressed, they said, it became clear that the two shared a vision for an ultimate bike that is equal parts form and function, and it just grew from there. They're talking of producing as many as 100 bikes a year.
The KRGT-1 is described as "a studied blend of retro-modern design and performance." It's heavy on exposed mechanicals and crafted details, with black wheels, cylinder heads and fork tubes that stand out in stark contrast with the bike's brightly finished fuel tank and exhaust system.
Powered by a monstrous 2.0-litre V-twin engine, rated at 121 horsepower and 122 lb-ft of torque, and tipping the scales at just 245 kg, it promises to be a rocket.
With the first bike built and four more in progress, the next step is testing to satisfy emissions and noise regulations.
If you just have to have one, Arch is taking initial orders with a deposit of $12,000 (US).
