Much has been made about the cars future generations will want to drive, but an advanced driving experience provider in the UK actually went out and asked children as young as 11 what supercars they would want to drive … by actually letting them book them.

Nissan GT-R

TrackDays.co.uk invites children to book supercars as part of its junior supercar driving experiences, giving them free reign about which ones they would most like to pilot. The newly-released data showed the Lamborghini Gallardo as the high-performance favourite of 24% of junior supercar experience bookings. The Nissan GT-R followed up in second with 18% acceptance and the Ferrari F430 rounded out the top-3 with 16% of the votes.

“Our junior supercar driving experiences actually let children as young as 11 get behind the wheel of some of the most desirable cars on the planet,” said Imran Malek, operations manager at TrackDays.co.uk. “The Lamborghini Gallardo has long been a favourite bedroom wall poster with youngsters and our research shows its popularity is stronger than ever with children.”

Other cars included in the top-10 favourites with children include, in order of desirability, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Audi R8, McLaren 570S, Porsche Boxster S, Jaguar F-Type, BMW i8 and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Imran added that the younger generation may also be keenly aware of the sustainability of motoring, with their choice of BMW’s hybrid supercar.

“While other supercars are faster, it’s interesting to see that a plug-in hybrid model, the BMWi8, is among the most popular supercars to drive by the younger generation,” he concluded.
