Jaguar Land Rover is giving 25 people the chance to own an authentic Land Rover Series I, fully refurbished and ready for road use, as part of its “Reborn” initiative offered through its Land Rover Classic channel.
Debuting at Techno-Classica in Essen, Germany, an annual exposition for Vintage, Classic and Prestige Automobiles, Motorsport, Motorcycles, Spare Parts and Restorations, the program is based on 25 hand-picked chassis (from anywhere in the world) that undergo a complete restoration in accordance with the brand's original 1948 factory specification. The restoration uses Land Rover Classic Parts for authenticity and the bodies are available in one of five period colours — Light Green, Bronze Green, RAF Blue, Dove Grey or Poppy Red.
The 25 customers are able to select their preferred base Land Rover and will be able to follow the restoration (performed at the original Defender production facility in Solihull) from start to finish.
“The launch of the Reborn initiative represents a fantastic opportunity for customers to own a valuable and collectable automotive icon,” said Tim Hannig, Director, Jaguar Land Rover Classic. “Reborn showcases Land Rover Classic’s expertise in restoring and maintaining our loyal customers’ prized Land Rovers. It also demonstrates the business’ commitment to supporting customers with original and genuine parts for Land Rover models that have been out for production for longer than 10 years.”
