Inspired by the Defender Works V8 – 70thEdition, the new upgrade kits (the first of their kinds from Land Rover Classic) improve the performance and agility of older Defenders (from 1994 through 2016).

“In 2018, Land Rover’s 70th Anniversary year, we saw unprecedented demand for the limited-edition Defender Works V8, which brought new levels of handling and performance to this iconic vehicle,” said Calum McKechnie, Head of Land Rover Classic. “Extending the range of fully engineered, tested and approved upgrades offered by Land Rover Classic underlines our commitment to supporting existing Defender owners, as we look forward to the new Defender’s world premiere later this year.”

The upgrade kits are all part of one massive upgrade kit, but can be ordered in stages according to the vehicle’s age and its owner’s budget. The upgrades all start with diamond-turned 18-inch Sawtooth alloy wheels which can be fitted to Defenders from 1994 model year or younger.

Made up of a uniquely tuned suspension geared toward on-road comfort and dynamics, the Defender Suspension Upgrade Kit will fit on vehicles from 2007 or newer. It comprises revised spring rates, dampers, anti-roll bars, links and bushes.

It is only available for the 2.2-litre turbodiesel on vehicles from model years 2012-16. It also includes bespoke badging on the front fenders and an owner’s certificate, as well as pickup at Land Rover Classic Works facilities.

The Classic Works upgrade can only be ordered directly from, and installed at, the Land Rover Classic facilities in England or Germany, but all the others can be purchased through the Jaguar Land Rover Classic Parts website and shipped to the nearest Land Rover dealer for installation. They’re all covered by Land Rover’s standard aftermarket parts and accessories warranty.
