Lexus is giving its LS sedan the Inspiration treatment, the fourth vehicle in the series, the third model to receive the treatment and the first sedan in the limited-edition series.
The LS 500 will arrive in fall 2019 as a 2020 model, featuring a unique Deep Garnet exterior, the first such time the colour has been used. It will also feature a unique interior treatment to present the large luxury sedan in a glamourous premium light.
The deep metallic red exterior shines bright in direct light and has a deep lustrous tone in subdued light. It’s complimented by standard 20-inch wheels finished in Black Vapour Chrome, which also shows bright and polished in sunlight and subdued in the shade. LED puddle lights welcome the approaching driver.
Inside, the standard semi-aniline white leather (seats, door panels and centre console) is offset and complimented by the stark black instrument panel, steering wheel and carpets. The contrasting colours are bridged by Kiriko glass, a signature LS interior design cue, on the door panels. The interior is further accentuated by LED instrument panel lighting.
The LS 500 Inspiration Edition is powered by the standard LS 3.5-litre twin-turbo V-6 that makes 416 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. It powers the car from zero to 100 km/h time in less than five seconds. The car is also available in all-wheel drive, featuring a Torsen limited-slip centre differential.
Other Lexus Inspiration Series models include the LX 570 sport-utility vehicle and two versions of the LC 500 coupe. The special edition LS is limited to 300 units, with pricing available closer to the on-sale date.
