Toyota Canada has confirmed that the company is dropping the slow-selling Lexus HS 250h hybrid from its lineup in North America. It will continue to be sold in Japan.
The Toyota Prius-based HS 250h was introduced as a 2010 model. While it hasn't been a big seller here, hybrids represent nearly one-fifth of all Lexus sales in Canada, according to a company spokesperson.
With the CT 200h luxury sportback on the road now and the new 2013 ES hybrid option just around the corner, Lexus maintains strong hybrid offerings for those looking for advanced technology in the entry luxury segments, the company says.
The CT 200h and the new 2013 ES hybrid would have bracketed the HS 250h in the market, effectively making it superfluous.
