Maserati is embracing the dark side with a Nerissimo “black” package for its Levante sport-utility, and the Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans.

The Nerissimo package embodies the mysterious excitement of city nights, while enhancing the sportiness of the Levante SUV, the Ghibli executive sport sedan, and the flagship Quattroporte.

The package includes Nero (black) exterior paint (and also Nero Ribelle and Grigio Maratea — metallic black and grey, respectively — on the sedans’ exterior carbon packages), accented with black chrome trim pieces (grille upper bezel and trident badge, trunk, side air vents, Maserati badges on the C-pillar, and the Maserati logo, nomenclature and script on the rear deck. Black trim accents also adorn the window surrounds, exhaust tips and grille vertical pieces.

The package is one of the enhancements to the line for 2018, which also includes new exterior refreshes and interior upgrades to the GranTurismo coupe and convertible, and the addition of GranSport and GranLusso (grand luxury) trim levels, the latter of which offers the choice of replacing the leather seat coverings with Ermenegildo Zegna silk, for the new Ghibli and Levante. Wood trim and wood/leather steering wheel cover is also included with the Ermenegildo Zegna silk upgrade.

The GranTurismos get an exterior makeover to make the bodies more aerodynamically sound, while the interior gets a sound upgrade of its own, with a state-of-the-art infotainment system and a new driver interface.

The 2018 sedans feature Magneti Marelli full adaptive LED headlights with glare free high-beams, and an engine upgrade to 424-hp output for the 3.0-litre V-6 thanks to a new Integrated Vehicle Control system from Bosch.
