This summer, Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be making the red-carpet tour in support of the latest installment in the Jurassic Park movie franchise, Jurassic World.

Mercedes-Benz models such as the iconic G-Class, the utilitarian Sprinter, the workhorse Unimog and the new GLE Coupé, play supporting roles in the epic action adventure film, sharing the spotlight with prehistoric beasts such as Velociraptors, Ankylosauruses and the film’s anti-hero Indominus Rex (a hybrid developed specifically for the park by splicing genes from several different dinosaurs).

“In 1997, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class made its first official appearance in the Hollywood Blockbuster ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’. Today, 18 years later, another Mercedes-Benz car will debut in a significant role in the latest installment of the groundbreaking Jurassic Park series named Jurassic World: the new GLE Coupé”, says Dr. Jens Thiemer, Vice President Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars. “We are delighted to continue our partnership with a multitude of Mercedes-Benz vehicles and will promote the film and our cars with many exciting global marketing activities.”

The new GLE 450 AMG Coupé makes its film debut as the official car of Jurassic World operations manager Claire Dearing, played by Bryce Dallas Howard. The vehicle’s off-road capabilities are showcased in the jungles of Isla Nublar, when she and behavioural researcher Owen Grady go off to track down the Indominus Rex.

“The fleet of Mercedes Benz vehicles fit perfectly into Jurassic World. They are classy, sophisticated, and sexy — exactly what would exist in a modern international theme park,” says film producer Frank Marshall.

Other vehicles in the film include the G 63 AMG 6x6, support vehicles such as the Unimog dinosaur ambulance, and various Sprinter models.

Daimler is promoting the film and the company’s involvement with a comprehensive promotional package including television commercials, online microsites, social media activities and advertising in various media.
