MINI Canada has confirmed the second-year continuation of its Contingency Award Programs for Canadians who race a MINI in the upcoming Canadian Tour Car Championship (CTCC) and the 2013 Targa Newfoundland.
Competitors will have the opportunity to win cash prizes based on the level of their success.
For the CTCC, MINI Canada will pay contingency awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes in each points-paying race in the Championship. It will also reward championship-winning drivers in the Touring and B-Spec classes during the 2013 CTCC season.
For the Touring Class, the payout structure will be $1000 for 1st, $750 for 2nd and $500 for 3rd-place finishers in each race, and $5000 for winning the Championship.
Each year from 2009 to 2012, a MINI driver has celebrated a 1st or 2nd placing in the Touring class with two MINI drivers finishing in the Top 3 individual standings at season's end.
For the B-Spec Class introduced in 2012, the payout will be $500 for 1st, $300 for 2nd and $150 for 3rd-place finishers in each race, and $3000 for winning the Championship
MINI also achieved podium finishes in the inaugural year of the B-Spec program.
For the 2013 Targa Newfoundland competition, the contingency payout will be $3000 for 1st-place in each of the Open, Targa and Grand Touring Classes.
"MINI built its roots in motorsports and this incentive program provides us with the opportunity to reward drivers that will help demonstrate the outstanding performance of the MINI brand," said Adam Shaver, Director of MINI Canada.
