We know; we've already told you about the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and it's 700-plus horsepower engine. But what we didn't know then is just exactly how quick this muscle car of muscle cars really is.

Now we know and colour us impressed. Not only does the Hellcat boast one of the best car names ever, it backs that name with a National Hot Rod Association-certified quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.2 seconds at 125 mph with stock Pirelli P275/40ZR20 P Zero tires.

With drag radials, that time goes down to 10.8 seconds at 126 mph!

"It wasn't long ago that a 10-second car was a full-on racecar," said Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO, Dodge and SRT brands. "Not only can Challenger run 10s on the drag strip, but you can also fit your family and drive cross country."
Hopefully not at top speed.

The fastest times come from the muscle car genre's most muscle, of course, with a 6.2-litre Supercharged Hellcat Hemi that produces 707-hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. The SRT Hellcat is also the first factory-supercharged Hemi.Performance enhancements include a new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual, and an all-new interior inspired by the classic 1971 Challenger.

The Dodge and SRT muscle car lineup, the industry's largest, now includes the 2015 Challenger SXT and R/T, and all-new Hemi Challenger Scat Pack with 485 lb. and 475 lb.-ft.The Challenger SRTs are built in Brampton, Ont.
