"Bentley's heritage is a cornerstone of our brand," said Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, CEO of Bentley Motors. "For decades our cars have defined ultimate luxury and high performance grand touring. It is our goal to continue to build the best luxury cars in the world. We are honoured that the readers recognize the Contintental GT as a future classic and we thank them for this prestigious award."
The Continental GT range includes the V8, W12, and recently launched flagship Continental GT Speed, which comes in both coupe and convertible body styles.
Mercedes-Benz's G-Class took the off-roader category, and the CLS Shooting Brake the luxury segment. The Mercedes-Benz six-cylinder compressor sports car SSK won the Classics up to 1930 section; the returning champion in the 1947-1961 category was the 300 SL Gullwing. Winner of the 2012 Auction Car category was a 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540 K in a rare special roadster version.
Nine categories were awarded in all.
