New interim president for Mazda Canada

Veteran Mazda staffer Shusuke "Kory" Koreeda replaces Don Romano at the helm

Shusuke "Kory" Koreeda has been named interim President of Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI), effective immediately, replacing Don Romano, who is leaving the company.

Romano, who has been president of MCI since April 2006, was also the Chief Marketing Officer for Mazda North American Operations. Before coming to Canada he was vice-president of marketing for Mazda in the United States.

Koreeda, a 32-year veteran at Mazda, has served in a variety of executive positions at Mazda Motor Corporation (MC) in Japan and with Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) in the United States.

Most recently, he was Executive Vice President of Mazda Canada.

Prior to joining MCI as Executive Vice President in 2011, Koreeda was General Manager, Global Marketing Division at MC responsible for all marketing matters globally.

Koreeda's appointment to MCI President is expected to be approved at Mazda Motor Corporation (MC) later this month.
