Kia B-Segment Concept, Frankfurt 2013

Kia will debut a new concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September that is said to hint at a possible future B-segment (sub-compact) model. The concept, which has been created in Europe with European tastes and expectations in mind, is said to feature elements not always associated with smaller cars. In Kia's words, it's playful but gutsy, sturdy yet impish, ready to take on the urban environment with style and tenacity.

Beyond the fact that it features a mix of contrasting materials within its compact dimensions and a couple of teaser images, Kia has released few other details. The interior image suggests a futuristic approach to front seating in the concept car.

While acknowledging that it hints at a future B-segment contender, Kia says there are no current plans for production of the vehicle to be unveiled in Frankfurt. Rather, it will be used to gauge potential customer response for future showroom models.
