Hyundai's reskinned 2015 Sonata, which is scheduled to go on sale in Canada in July, has an all-new look – one more sedate than its swoopy 2009-2014 predecessor.
What hasn't changed however, its entry-level price point of $23,995 – even though such features as a rear-view camera and heated seats have been added as standard equipment.
That price gets you a base GL trim model powered by a 185-horsepower 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine, with a six-speed automatic transmission and a long list of standard features
Along with the additions mentioned above, they include: air conditioning, a 5.0-inch colour touch-screen display, Bluetooth
Bluetooth and LED daytime running lamps.
For a few hundred more, at $26,299, the GLS model adds an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, Blind Spot Detection (BSD), rear heated seats, a heated steering wheel, proximity keyless entry with push-button ignition, and rear parking assistance sensors.
New for 2015, a distinct "Sport" trim line adds unique styling cues, features, and performance elements, while the $28,399 Sport model adds 17-inch alloy wheels, dual chrome exhaust outlets, a panoramic sunroof, unique sport seats, LED tail lamps, an exterior appearance package, and more.
For $30,199, the Sport Tech model incorporates an 8-inch touch-screen navigation system, a premium audio system, side-window sun shades, and more.
Escalating the level of premium features, there's the $32,999 Limited model, which offers leather seats, HID headlamps with High Beam Assist, ventilated front seats, an automatic-opening trunk lid, an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS).
Those drivers wanting more performance can opt instead for the $30,999 Sport 2.0T equipped with a 245 horsepower 2.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The Sport 2.0T model builds on the Sport variant, but features 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-pinion rack-mounted motor driven power steering (R-MDPS), a sport-tuned suspension, a D-cut steering wheel with paddle shifters, a Supervision gauge cluster with 4.2-inch TFT LCD screen, leather sport seats, and more.
Finally, there's a range-topping $34,799 Sport 2.0T Ultimate model that combines the appearance and performance enhancing features found in the Sport 2.0T with the premium equipment found in the Limited.
