Toyo Tire Canada has introduced a pair of new tires to the Canadian market – its best ultra-high performance, all-season tire ever and a tougher all-terrain tire for light truck and SUV owners.

Proxes 4 Plus

The all-new Proxes 4 Plus was developed to deliver ultra-high performance, all-season versatility, a quiet ride and significantly longer tread life than the competition over the life of the tire.

Toyo says independent testing showed the Proxes 4 Plus to able to stop six car lengths shorter than its leading all-season competitor when new and more than seven car lengths shorter when worn.

It says the Proxes 4 Plus, designed for high performance vehicles, also lasts up to 47% longer than the competitor, an increase in tread life of 22,500 kilometers. Thanks to an advanced tread pattern design the Proxes 4 Plus is also said to remain quieter throughout its lifetime.

"The Proxes 4 Plus represents a mix of Toyo Tires’ latest materials and technology to achieve improvements in both performance and overall tire life", Castor Hui, National Technical Service Manager, Toyo Tire Canada Inc., says.

The Proxes 4 Plus line-up covers 58 original equipment and plus-fitment sizes and comes with treadwear warranty of up to 80,000 kilometers for V- and W-rated tires and 72,000 kilometers for Y-rated versions.

Open Country A/T II

Toyo has also introduced a new and tougher all-terrain tire for truck and SUV owners– the all-new Open Country A/T II. Toyo says the new tire offers outstanding all-season performance, an aggressive new tread, buttress and sidewall design and a quiet ride over the life of the tire.

Performance and wear improvements are credited to changes in compounding and design while a new wear-resistant tread compound has significantly increased tread life while maintaining all-season capabilities. An aggressive sidewall and open tread block design delivers tough looks and even tougher performance in dirt, mud or snow, while maintaining a quiet ride.

"Our goal was to create the toughest, longest lasting all-terrain tire on the market," Hui says.

The A/T II is offered in 71 different size combinations ranging from 15 to 20 inches in rim diameter, including original equipment and plus fitment sizes.

It comes with a 100,000 kilometer warranty for P-Metric and Metric sizes, and 80,000 kilometers for LT and flotation sizes.

For enthusiasts wanting an even tougher tire, an additional 17 Xtreme sizes are available featuring a deeper tread depth and an even more aggressive tread and shoulder design.
