Nissan Canada has announced a starting price point of $23,698 (MSRP) for the all-new, fifth-generation 2013 Nissan Altima sedan line, which will become available this summer at Nissan dealers across Canada.
Customers can pre-order online, beginning today, at www.nissan.ca/altima-pre-order.
In addition to being among the first to receive the 2013 Altima, those who do will receive a no-charge 48-month, 100,000 km 'Additional Security Plan' worth up to $1,445. Benefits include the first four oil changes, rental vehicle assistance, premium roadside assistance, tire road-hazard coverage, stolen vehicle, vandalism and fire services, and more. Full details are available online or at Nissan dealers.
Nissan bills the new model as the most innovative Altima ever with premium “class above” exterior and interior styling.
“With the added benefits of the presale offer combined with its evocative styling, sophisticated exterior, rewarding driving experience, smartphone connectivity and available class-exclusive technologies, we expect an even stronger consumer response to the Altima when it goes on sale today,” said Judy Wheeler, Director of Marketing, Nissan Canada Inc.
The 2013 Altima is available in six models designed to appeal to a broad range of buyer needs and budgets. They include: the 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SV and 2.5 SL, all of which feature a 182-hp 2.5-litre inline 4-cylinder engine; and the 3.5 SV and 3.5 SL, with a standard 270-hp 3.5-litre V-6.
Several of the Altima's direct competitors, including the Chevrolet Malibu, Ford Fusion, Hyundai Soanata and Kia Optima have dropped V-6 engines from their lineups.
All versions are equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
