Ford is giving Ford pickup owners a lift, as in new suspension kits for better off-road performance, the first ever such offering from the company.

Available through Ford Performance Parts, the kits offer new shocks, exclusive tuning, new front coilovers, upper front mounts and spring pre-load rings, allowing off-road explorers to go farther off the pavement.
“Ford Performance Parts developed these kits to make the off-road experience even better for our Ranger and F-150 customers,” said Eric Cin, global director, Ford Vehicle Personalization and Accessories. “Truck customers are asking for options for increased capability and customization, and the new leveling suspension kits for Ranger and F-150 deliver on that need.”

Ford says the majority of it pickup owners purchase 4-wheel drive vehicles, and the new kits improve ground clearance and, as a direct result, increase the angles of approach and breakover. Ranger sees an improvement of 21% in the angle of approach and 10% in breakover angle, while F-150 sees improvements of 22% and 7%, respectively.
Available for 4WD 2019 Ranger and 2015-19 F-150, the after-purchase, dealer-installed kits feature new aluminum Fox shocks optimized through internal valving for each of the pickups and designed to provide amply cooling, new front coilover springs to deliver optimum spring rate, truck-specific upper front mounts with polyurethane bushings to isolate noise and vibration, and 51-mm front lifts to level the pickup front to rear.

“The elevated off-road geometry, paired with Ford Performance tuning, makes this a really unique offering,” said Cin. “The secret sauce to this kit is in the Ford Performance tuning. This suspension and its tuning are designed to improve off-road handling and responsiveness, specifically for Ranger and F-150.”
The kits will be available this fall through Ford dealers at a price of $1,495 before installation and taxes, and come with a Ford Performance Parts limited warranty.
