Various manufacturers issued recalls for 23 models over the month

2011 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson

2013-17 Audi Q5, 2013-15 Audi Q7

System: Fuel

Number of vehicles affected: 35,575

Details: The fuel pump flange may develop fine cracks, which could result in a fuel leak that could be ignited.

Correction: Dealers will inspect the fuel pump flange and replace if cracked, or apply a butyl protective film if it isn’t.

2011-12 BMW 1 Series, 2011 BMW 3 Series, 2011 BMW 5 Series, 2011 BMW Z4

System: Powertrain

Number of vehicles affected: 869

Details: The rivet connections for the constant velocity (CV) joint of the rear driveshaft may fail over time, causing the CV joint to break and a loss of propulsion.

Correction: Dealers will replace the CV joint.

2017 BMW 6 Series, 2017 BMW X5, 2017 BMW X6

System: Labelling

Number of vehicles affected: 33

Details: On certain M Series vehicles, the Tire and Loading information label incorrectly states tire sizes and in some cases incorrect tire pressures.

Correction: Dealers will replace the Tire and Loading label.

2005-08 BMW 7 Series

System: Structure

Number of vehicles affected: 2,081

Details: On vehicles equipped with Comfort Access or Comfort Access with Soft Close Automatic door latching, the doors may not latch properly and could unlatch while driving.

Correction: To be determined.

2016-17 Chevrolet Spark

System: Seats and Restraints

Number of vehicles affected: 17,199

Details: During testing using unbelted, out-of-position 3-year-old and 6-year-old test dummies in the front passenger seat were subjected to above-regulated axial neck force.

Correction: To be determined.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica

System: Brakes

Number of vehicles affected: 4

Details: On certain wheelchair accessible vehicles, the rear wheel brake lines may have been inverted during conversion, which could cause an incorrect application of the ABS, which could increase the risk of a crash.

Correction: Dealers will inspect and re-route brake lines.

2011-12 Ford F-150

System: Brakes

Number of vehicles affected: 43,600

Details: On vehicles equipped with 3.5L EcoBoost V-6, the electric vacuum pump may be compromised by moisture entering through the vacuum harness, resulting in decreased brake assist.

Correction: Dealers will replace the EVP and vacuum harness.

2017 Ford F-150, 2017 Ford F-550 Super Duty

System: Seating

Number of vehicles affected: 175

Details: Inadequate welds between the seatback and the manual seat recliner mechanism could fail to properly restrain its occupant in a crash.

Correction: Dealers will inspect the welds and replace the driver’s seatback frame.

2015-17 Ford F-150, 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty, 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty, 2017 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2017 Ford F-550 Super Duty

System: Accessories

Number of vehicles affected: 304

Details: Inertia load from aftermarket chrome exterior door handle covers may cause the doors to unlatch in a side impact crash.

Correction: Dealers will remove the covers from recalled vehicles and reimburse customers for their purchases.

2011 Ford Fiesta

System: Electrical

Number of vehicles affected: 11,899

Details: Moisture containing road salt could enter the battery junction box and cause corrosion of the fuse and wiring terminals, resulting in a loss of electrical connectivity in some powertrain circuits, which might cause the vehicle to stall, as well as exterior lighting.

Correction: Dealers will inspect, clean the terminals, replace defective fuses and install battery junction box seals to prevent future moisture entry.

2016-17 Jaguar XJ

System: Labelling

Number of vehicles affected: 453

Details: The certification label may not contain the required National Safety Mark nor a statement of conformity.

Correction: Dealers will replace the certification label.

2018 Jaguar F-Type

System: Lighting and Instrumentation

Number of vehicles affected: 145

Details: Failure of the front turn signal LED or headlight module may not be immediately evident to the driver, who would be unaware of proper signaling of intention to turn or change lanes.

Correction: Dealers will upgrade vehicle software.

2017 Jeep Compass

System: Powertrain

Number of vehicles affected: 30

Details: On vehicles equipped with the 6-speed Aisin transmission, the left front halfshaft may break or disengage from the transmission, causing the vehicle to lose power and the park function, which could increase the risk of a crash.

Correction: Dealers will inspect the left front halfshaft and replace as needed.

2016-17 Mercedes-Benz SLC, 2016-17 Mercedes-Benz SLK

System: Brakes

Number of vehicles affected: 356

Details: Incorrect Electronic Stability Program (ESP) software could result in low residual pressure in the brake system following a driving aid auto brake situation, and in time may result in reduced brake performance.

Correction: Dealers will update the software for the ESP.

2015-17 Porsche Macan

System: Fuel

Number of vehicles affected: 8,346

Details: The fuel pump flange may develop fine cracks, which could result in a fuel leak that could be ignited.

Correction: Dealers will inspect the fuel pump flange and replace if cracked, or apply a butyl protective film if it isn’t.

2013-16 Ram 1500, 2013-16 Ram 5500, 2014-16 Ram 3500,

System: Safety

Number of vehicles affected: 216,007

Details: Certain sensors could be deemed to be inoperative if the truck receives a significant underbody impact, triggering an instrument cluster warning light and disabling the side-impact airbags and seatbelt pretensioners.

Correction: Dealers will have the computer module reprogrammed with software that allows more robust sensor performance.

2012-14 Volkswagen Passat

System: Powertrain

Number of vehicles affected: 10,106

Details: An underbody heat shield may not be long enough to protect the right drive half-shaft grease boot from heat, which over time could lead to a grease leak that could ignite if it comes in contact with heated surfaces of the exhaust or diesel particulate filter.

Correction: Dealers will install a proper-fit heat shield and, on certain vehicles, replace the upper boost hose.
