DEARBORN, MI – Media gathered here for a Trend Conference organized by Ford were treated to a sneak preview of the all-new Ford F-150 in miniature. The full-size pickup will go on sale in December.
Ford and Fisher-Price combined forces to unveil the Fisher-Price Power Wheels F-150 ride-on toy. Battery-powered and designed for kids it will go on sale in September, with a starting retail price of $349.99 in the U.S.
It's the third generation of ride on toys inspired by F-150 models and is expected to be the best-selling merchandise Ford sells.
Ford says it has more than 400 licensing agreements for use of its brands on merchandise ranging from model cars, apparel, pinball machines, pool tables and Mustang cologne to power tools. Those agreements generated $2 billion in retail sales in 2013.
