Porsche is taking its high-end sport utility to a higher level with the introduction of a limited Platinum Edition Cayenne later in the 2016 model year
There will actually be two new Cayenne Platinum Edition models — the standard Cayenne and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid — each of which will get a distinctively sporty outward upgrade and a high-level of equipment inside.
The profile features 20-inch RS Spyder wheels housed in larger wheel wells, while the interior gets leather, electrically adjusted sport seats with Alcantara inserts, the Porsche crest embroidered on the head restraints, and illuminated Platinum Edition stainless steel door sills.
Other features on the limited edition models include Bi-Xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), anti-glare rear-view mirrors inside and out, dark-tinted privacy glass, and front and rear ParkAssist with audible and visual guides.
Options are limited to exterior paint selection — the standard is solid black or white, but there are options to go with Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrera White or Rhodium Silver (all in metallic finishes). The wheel arch extensions are also available in body colour. And the finishing touch is high-gloss black trim.
The editions come with the latest version of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system and a surround sound system from Bose. The Hybrid also features the cabin pre-conditioning system, which is able to brings the cabin up or down to temperature before occupants entre the vehicle.
Power is provided by a 300-hp 3.6-litre V-6, with the E-Hybrid using a supercharged 3.0-litre V-6 in tandem with an electric motor to provide a combined 416 hp.
